It's that favorite, special day of the week again..Vintage Things Thursday. I can't wait to see what pretty things everyone will display..I just love to look at them. Everyone, come join in the fun....it all begins with ColoradoLady and Mr Linky..so come on, sign in..and show all your vintage things. Visit Suzanne
This is a gingham stitch / chicken scratch pattern from 1962. I think this pattern is a sweet one and would look cute made into most anything. Some of the earlier pieces are shown framed... and displayed in other ways. My favorite pieces are still aprons and pillows made with this lovely stitching. Maybe someday I will get my tablecloth and napkins done.
I'm not sure of the ages of this pattern packet...nor of the next one. With it being a McCalls give away pattern, I am thinking the 70's or 80's. I like the star pillows and the smaller stars on back. They would make cute pincushions. (Like I really need more pincushions.. :) )
Love this little Butternick pattern..and surprize of all surprizes.. my favorite pattern here is not Overall Bill. It's the little flower scene coverlet and the pillow. They're just the sweetest..

Cool old patterns, I wish I had saved all of mine. I used to do quite a bit of garment construction, can't imagine trying to do that now. WAY TOO MUCH WORK. quilting is much easier. :) Thanks for sharing

Great patterns...the floral baby quilt is too cute! I love the doggy bed pattern pack-in the1990s I made a doggy bed like that with Oakland Raiders fabric as a floor pillow for my football crazy son.
ReplyDeleteThat piece of chicken scratch is awesome. Have never seen one like that.
ReplyDeleteMy mother, who went to heaven a year ago in August, had an entire DRAWER full of patterns. After seeing them displayed in all these "vintage" posts, I asked dad what happened to them. Alas and Alack, mom was NOT a hoarder and in her last years when she could no longer sew she GAVE THEM AWAY to a thrift shop somewhere.
ReplyDeleteHere I thought I was going to AT LEAST have a cool Vintage Thingies post one day - - - -
they are all sweet treasures but the flower scene is my favorite too!
