Any Ideas On What To Do With These Wooden Dominoes .... Vintage Things Thursday

''''I so hope these are old enough to be considered vintage, cause I so want to participate in Yintage Things Thursday..and after that fall and fractured bone, I'm moving as little as possible and for the moment, doing only what has to be done. This is however, my very favorite day of the week. I love going around to all the sites and looking at the beautiful vintage things that are shared.......
So everyone..come join in the fun. If you've never participated, you're missing out on so much fun. Everyone is so sweet and we all share a love of most all things vintage. I think it's wonderful and I thank Suzanne for being such a sweet, gracious hostess each week. She's truly a lovely lady. To join in and participate all you have to do is click on Suzanne at ColoradoLady and sign in to the link. I promise you..you will have so much fun,see so many beautiful things and meet so many sweet people. Hope to see you whilst out visiting..
Lookit !!!! Lookit !!!!! Look at what I found sitting at the thrift store, minding it's own business. This is a little set of wooden dominoes,in it's own little box with sliding lid...... Of course, you know I had to have it, tho I wasn't for sure exactly what kind of dominoes I had...they were turned upside down, and dominoes was stamped on the backs....Later, when I got home, first thing I did was open little box to see exactly what I had... and look !!!!
Apparently now,I own a domino farm... Complete with animals, a barn and a tractor. I think they're just cute as can be. I don't know the age of the little set, but the paper at the bottom of the set tells me it's a
Pier 1 Imports set..........  I haven't a clue as to what to do with the little dominos..Does anyone have an idea as to how they might be used ???? I surely would appreciate suggestions..

  2. Those are the cutest dominoes I have seen. In fact, I have never seen any like this. I will put m thinking cap on, but until you decide what you are to do with them, hang on to them.

  3. DRAWER PULLS! Get your gorgeous husband to drill a hole through, then attache with a nut & bolt to cigar boxes for some spiffy storage. I was just looking here: http://justsomethingimade.blogspot.com/2010/05/craft-organizing-cigar-boxes.html

    They'd be perfect.

  5. Well, I might just put them in a beautiful glass container and look at them. Not sure what to do and I might have to think about it. I just know you will come up with something wonderful.

  9. They are so cute and educational. For me, I think I would like to glue them together or drill holes in them and string them together as placemat. Kids would love them too during meal times. You are good in hunting good stuff in the store. :)

  12. You could use them to line a wooden tray (glued down, of course!) or glue them above a dado rail ... they are cute!

  13. Why don't you just use them the original way to entertain your guests? I would love a game of dominoes again.

  15. You could glue them back to back and make Christmas ornaments. Or make a picture frame! Just don't let any of the Farmville addicts get a hold of them!

  17. I recently found some similar dominoes at the dollar store and used them as "magnets" on some memo boards I made to sell in my mom's store. The memo boards were similar to the ones at this blog: http://keleia4him.blogspot.com/2008/12/third-cookie-sheet-alteration.html

I glued a magnet to the back of the dominoes and they were perfect! In case you can't open the link, basically the board is a cookie sheet and you just glue pretty paper to cover the flat part, use a hole punch to make two holes at the top and string ribbon through for hanging. It's a quick, easy and inexpensive craft and makes a great gift.

    Have a wonderful day!

  19. I would display them as they are so that they are not damaged, but if you want to use them for a craft, I would make trivets to use or to hang on the wall.

My first VTT is at this link:

  20. Hi, Your farm dominoes are wonderful. I believe a small child would have a marvelous time playing with them as they are. Is every one unique?

  21. I have never seen these before. You have gotten so great ideas in your comments. I like the idea of the mosaic table top. Depends on what age grands or kiddos you have coming to your house or your style of decorating. I have a feeling you will come up with something, since this is my first time to visit, but I see signs of a creative person here. Hum?
