I can't wait to make some of these. They would be so pretty done so many ways.. and I can see them done in a crepe paper as well.
Yesterday when I was out for awhile, I went by the fabric store to see all the beautiful things..and found for myself some really sweet fabric. It's dainty and shabby looking..perfect for these flowers. These two sheets of pattern was in a folder,in that big box of patterns. I wonder..if whoever saved all the patterns... I wonder if she made some flowers, did she embroidery..did she paint.... And,I wonder...how long did it take to gather all these patterns together. Whoever she was, she was a crafter for sure. Nobody could amass this many patterns unless you were a crafter of the finest sort. I think I would have enjoyed crafting with her...

When I first saw your picture it reminded me of kleenex tissue flowers we would make to put on the bridal car, remember?!! Your fabric roses are so delicate--love the print.
ReplyDeleteVery sweet little rosettes.

Hi CC! These are beautiful! I wish I saw these sooner! I want to set the table up nice for St. Pat's dinner tomorrow night with the kids, but I don't think I'll have time to work on anything too big for a centerpiece. My little plastic canvas leprechauns will have to do, I think! This is such a cute idea though... Maybe I can make some of these up for Spring at least, when St. Pat's Day is over! ((hugs)) ~tina

These are beautiful...I nvere thought of doing them with fabric. i must give this a try, how nice.
ReplyDeleteHi CC, so glad you posted this. I've been wanting to try fabric flowers and lots of them look so complicated. These are pretty and look easier. The tags I made are my first ones. The image is a freebie graphic that I shrank and printed. I just started adding bits of stuff I had with decoupage and kept dabbing paint and glitter here and there. Before I got the tea dye ink pad I would just water down brown paint and sometimes I also used really dark tea! Just start with what you like and keep going. I didn't have a template for the tag. Just cut the shape and punched a hole. Go for it and have fun!
ReplyDeleteWow..your fabric rose looks wonderful. I have never seen anything like it.

ReplyDeleteI just love the handmade roses. I was at a fabric store yesterday and saw where you could by a whole string of large roses already made up and put on tape. Great to use on t-shirts, etc. I want to try and make some too.
