Pinks,Pinks,and Pinks .... Pink Saturday

It's that time again..Pink Saturday. I always love this time when everyone shows their pretty pinks.Though I love all soft sweet pastel shades, soft pink is probably my favorite..so let's all go looking at the pretty blogs and the pretties everyone is showing. All you have to do is to visit Beverly and see the list of pinkies.
HowSweetTheSound is where you go...the list is there. Be sure and visit as many participants as possible and leave comments. We all love comments..they just make my day.
And while you're out visiting, go by CandGdesign..and say hi to Dawn. She's is such a sweetie ..

As sweet as spring..nothing can be prettier nor more springlike than pretty pink hyacinth, nor can pink be found anywhere that's more dainty,soft..so sweet and snuggly,as is pink chenille. I love, love pretty pink flowers..and I love, love chenille, most specially pink chenille. I wish I had a sweet throw made with squares of the softest chenille, one of each pink..wouldn't that be gorgeous. I think to myself, haven't you yet learned your lesson with chenille??? And still you want more?????
You see, there is a small story with me and chenille. *deep sighs... It's far enough in the past now,so that I don't sob..well,not so much anymore when I think of it. You see, once upon a time, maybe 3 years ago...I discovered ebay. Not only did I discover ebay,I fell in love with all the wonders just at my fingertips. Oh, what a silly innocent I was back then..* insert a weak smile here..for you see...*sighs again, there came a time when I thought I had a small need for chenille..as I loved the texture, just everything about it..and after all, wasn't I in possession of a really sweet pattern showing me how to make the cutest chenille animals?? You can see, I had to have some. As luck or fate would have it..it was also a long 3 day holiday weekend..when I decided on the day to buy, and since it was a holiday, I assumed that most everyone would be home doing family things..etc. I tell you this because in my warpedness,my thinking made sense to me at the time.
So..I enetered ebay with debit card in hand and some sort of inkling of the cute chenille I wanted..and then I thought..(that's where I screwed up),since it's a holiday..I had better bid on a lot so I will get at least some chenille. And with that,I set about bidding on most all the chenille I found..and I found a lot. *sobs
Yes..you guessed the rest. I bid on everything I saw, nobody else was bidding..at all!!!!!, and I won it all. Over a three day weekend, I watched my bank account go lower and lower, I won bid after bid after bid. I was shocked, then stunned, then horrified..then giggly, then a squalling mess.It was a horrible 3 days,as I won bid after bid after bid and I prayed for someone to come along and bid higher than me. *sighs... It didn't happen folks..Just me winning, winning, winning. All different colors of chenille.
I've told you'all this for one reason only..you see,I have a need for pink chenille..but I will try to find pieces at JoAnn's or HobbyLobby..no more auctions for me., but aren't these pinks pretty??? I wish they were mine..
Nope CC, no more auctions for you and chenille.

  8. Oh CC! I can so relate with your Ebay story! I had a similar thing happen with bidding on a book I REALLY wanted. The week before I tried to get it on Ebay and I kept getting outbidded. So, I decided to bid on several copies of the same book and hope for the best. i ended up with 4 of the same books! LOL

Oh ma gosh, I have to chuckle at the chenille auction fiasco. Haha! If those squares are what you found then they were incredible wins. I think they are positively yummy.

  16. Oh CC! What an experience that was! I know my sister had a bit of a bad and similar experience with Ebay.. something about hitting the button wrong.. or hitting the wrong button?! Whatever the case, after hearing HER story, I've stayed away from it. But I hear so many good things people get from it too, so I always wonder! (0; My cousin from Japan likes Ebay, "TOO MUCH", she says! (0; She posted a youtube song about Ebay on her blog, sung by Weird Al, and it was really funny! You should look for it!.. or maybe I can post it sometime.. I didn't participate this week, but Happy Pink Saturday to you, nevertheless! Have a great weekend! Enjoy it! ((hugs)) ~tina

  19. Oh, CC! I feel your pain. I know about the lure of eBay. With me it was sock monkeys (some of which are on my post today) LOL! But I sure love your chenille. I think you did well because a girl can't have too much chenille or too many sock monkeys. ;-)

    Happy Pink Saturday...

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  20. I think that's why I am an e-bay chicken...I've never bought anything off of it. However, my buddy Bonnie is an e-bay queen. she's had lots of good luck with her finds.

I hope you find the perfect PINKS...even if you have to go to JoAnns to do it!

Have a wonderful Pink Sat! Dana

  26. Oh my! I can j ust imagine you being so excited on having that chenille. And I feel for you, there will always be that time where you really crave for something that you feel like you really have to have it now :-) That must be a lot of fabrics you end up with.

But CC, I'm assuming the quilt pictures you are showing us now are the different fabrics, yes? They are gorgeous sewn together!

    Happy Pink Saturday!

  27. Good morning CC, you really had me laughing about your Ebay buys. I know at the time it was NOT funny. Still I wonder what you did with all that lovely chenille. The pink you shared is so pretty. Is that yours?

    Love the pink hyacinths too.

I am doing all my pink Sat. visiting today. The net has been affected by our winter weather. Spring where are you. Smile.

    Hugs, Jeanne xoxo

  28. CC,
It is easy to get carried away on ebay. I used to buy too much jewelry there. I don't do ebay anymore. What a lesson you learned too , huh? But who doesn't love pink chenile? who could blame you? I was just drooling over some on a bolt at Hobby Lobby yesterday.
    Pink Blessings!

  31. What a fun story, Ebay can be so addicting, I have to be careful. I have been known to drain my entire PayPal account all in one sitting before...

Thanks for the comment you left on my blog, that was nice of you to say.

  33. Oh my ... glad you solved your email problems ... sorry I wasn't around to help. Life got away from me over the weekend so I'm playing 'catch up' with Pink Saturday. I've never participated in an eBay auction and methinks I probably won't give your experience. That said ... the chenilles are lovely!
