Vintage Tiny Aprons .... Vintage Things Thursday

It's that fantastic day of the week again..Vintage Things Thursday. I so enjoy this time of looking at everyone's pretty things..and the older, the better.Click on the button on the right sidebar to take you to the vintage things..Suzanne at Colorado Lady is so sweet as to host this wonderful day for us. Unfortunatly,my computer (or it's operator) has been unable to get a link there,so I just moved the button to my sidebar in easy reach,to take you back to her blog. I apologize..I don't know what I'm doing wrong.
I've also had problems trying to load pictures..*sighs here. So, forget my little problems, click on Vintage Things Thursday button to take you straight there...See you there..

I haven't been able to get out and about to see what all I can find in the thrift/antique shops. And (*sobs here),I really miss it. I so love looking through the shops just waiting for something to say .."Take me home with you".

This is a little bottle apron...I have several of these, made "back in the day"..and can only show the one. I remember these little bottle aprons being used, but can't remember for sure the time perion. Whenever they were popular,I still love them today. I don't use them, but I'm trying to think of a cute way to display them.
The little green one is so pretty with the combination of flowers and lace...

This sweet little apron is one of the smallest ones. What is it's use?? I have no idea, but I loved it and the others following. Especially I love the longer white one. It's so pretty and crisp when it was washed and ironed. I think it has to be my favorite. What is it's use?? Again,I have no idea, but I love it and will think of someway to display it.

  12. These are all so SWEET, CC!.. LOVE them! I'm not sure how I would display them either, but off the top of my head, I'm thinking either on dolls (big surprise there, ha! ha!).. or I would maybe drape a little clothes line somewhere with miniature clothes pins to hang them up on!.. Just a couple of ideas, that's all! (0; I have a small collection going with full-sized aprons, and just LOVE them!.. Anyways, on this New Year's Eve, I just want to say I've so appreciated meeting and getting to know you better this past year, and I count this new friendship as a blessing! Happy New Year, and Best wishes to you for 2010! ~tina

  21. Maybe they were used to decorate the bottles on the dinner table, ketchup, mustard etc? In Australia we had crocheted covers for the worcestershire etc.

  23. Hi, CC! So many people now have their liquid dish detergent built into their sink, I think that's why the bottle apron may have left us. They were a cute idea to cover up the label, sort of like all of those appliance cozies.

  24. Love your collection of small aprons. They are lovely. One of my goals is to make an apron for my granddaughters and a small one for their American Girl doll. I saw a pattern somewhere. Just have to locate it.

    I love your blog.
