Farmgirl Sunbonnet Sue Dressed for Blue Monday

Hi to everyone..it's time again for Blue Monday. I haven't been able to participate for awhile and I've really missed visiting Sally and all the other lovely ladies. So with no further adoo..let's all scamper on over to
at http://smilingsally.blogspot.com/
and visit all the other participants..

I know..it's the wrong season..still though, we find our girl Sue trying on here little witches hat. Sue, Hannah, May, Molly and Katie are always trying on their costumes and play dress up clothes, giving tea parties, making mud pies...and playing in their treehouse. Life is sweet and good for the little ones...it's as it should be.
Still, even though she has on her little witches hat..and her play magic broom and her magic wand..she has on a lovely blue flowered dress..all trimmed in lace. Let's hope the girls don't find any tadpoles to bring home and ruin their pretty dresses..

  1. Oh she is so lovely and love her pretty dress and her broom is so pretty too. Does Sue want to sit on her broom and zoom to Singapore to find her cousins hiding in the teepees in Sentosa? :) http://alicesg.blogspot.com/2009/02/sentosa-flower-show-part-8-imbiah.html

  4. That's a beautiful fabric, all dressed up with the pretty lace. My daughter would like it if it were in pink. I like it blue.

  12. I heard at a colonial home in New England that the wealthy were the original ones to wear pointed hats when they were in vogue, so maybe she's just a wealthy little Sunbonnet Sue who has her broom out to hand to the maid to clean for her. ;-)

    Happy Blue Monday...

    XO,

  19. Hi CC, your post is adorable. I love Sunbonnet Sue in her pretty dress with the witches hat. Your girls lead a happy children's life and that is as it should be. I really laughed when you mentioned the tadpoles because when my sisters and I were little we once brought home a large bucket home filled to the brim with tadpoles. We came in the kitchen door and my mother screamed. Consequently the bucket went flying and there were tadpoles jumping all over the kitchen floor. What could be saved were put in the chicken troth and were consumed by our chickens by the next day. LOL. We all cried.
Thank you for bringing back that hilarious memory.

    Hugs...Jeanne

  22. How cute. Seems funny to see Sue without her Sunbonnet. Although - I guess this could be considered a type of "sunbonnet".
